I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and was appointed to the major trauma centre and Leeds Children’s Hospital at the Leeds General Infirmary in February 2013. This is the regional centre for major trauma, limb reconstruction, paediatric orthopaedics and bone infection. It is consistently in the top two for volume of major trauma cases every year. I was lead clinician for paediatric orthopaedics (2019-2024) and treat children with limb problems of all ages.

Full range of limb reconstruction conditions treated, including congenital deformity (fibular hemimelia, congenital short femur, radial club hand), skeletal dysplasias (achondroplasia, multiple hereditary exostoses, SED), post-meningitis, ollier’s disease, metabolic conditions (hypophosphataemic rickets), acute trauma and post-traumatic deformity, hemihypertrophy, CTEV (club foot), brachymetatarsus, bone infection, non-union, rotational deformity and stump revisions.

Techniques used include osteotomy with internal fixation (intramedullary nail including "precice" magnetic lengthening, plate) and external fixation “frames” (Ilizarov method, hexapod TSF, rails LRS/MRS) and guided growth. I have performed over 1,050 frames in my first 11 years as a consultant.

I provide medicolegal reports within my areas of expertise including medical negligence cases. I am recognised by the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and am a clinical adviser to the Parliamentary Health Services Ombudsman.
