I have a particular interest in ankle replacement surgery. I also undertake large numbers of forefoot and bunion operations.

I took up my post as a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary and as senior clinical lecturer at the University of Leeds in August 2001. I have a sub-specialty interest in foot and ankle surgery. I completed a foot and ankle fellowship in Dublin with Mr Mike Stevens who was then President of the European Foot and Ankle Society. I also trained with Mr Tom Smith past President of the British Orthopaedic Foot Surgery Society.

I’m a member of the Biomet Total Ankle Replacement Faculty where we look at ways to continually improve techniques and results in this challenging area.

In addition to foot and ankle surgery I undertake general knee surgery and I have spent time working with Mr Dan Du Plessis, a knee surgeon in South Africa, who looked after the Springboks Rugby Team.

I have performed approximately 400 ankle replacements and thousands of forefoot and bunion procedures.
