Spire Leeds sports medicine centre provides a wide range of services to athletes of all levels – from elite sports people to amateur sports enthusiasts. Located in Roundhay Hall at Spire Leeds, the centre is equipped with some of the most advanced medical, human performance and rehabilitation technologies available and boasts its own strength conditioning following injury, illness or surgery.

Our team

The centre is run by a multi-disciplinary medical team of 40 consultants who are experienced in seeing and treating elite sports people in all sporting disciplines including running, football, cricket, rugby, triathlon, dance, golf, snowboarding and many others.

Our services are consultant-led, offering fast assessment, rapid access to diagnostic facilities and onward referral (if required) to a team of over 300 consultants.

The service is run by the largest team of consultant sporting experts on any one site in the North of England; 40 consultants including a sports psychiatrist; one of only six such professionals in the UK.

The team also includes six nationally-renowned sports MSK radiologists and two SEM (sports and exercise medicine) physicians.

Our service

• Our service is available for adults and children. (Most patients are aged 16 and above)
• Our centre offers appointments within 48 hours with no wait
• Multidisciplinary approach – different specialists can see patients at the same visit
• Referrals can be made straight into the centre by team doctors and medical professionals.
• Alternatively, patients (including general public) can “self-refer” without having to obtain a GP referral.
• Patients can “pay as they go” for any treatment if they do not have or wish to use their medical insurance.
