MBBS, MD, MRCP, FRCR
I am a musculoskeletal radiologist and specialise in the diagnosis, imaging (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI) and minimally invasive treatment of the musculoskeletal conditions. I have a special interest in sports related bone and soft tissue injuries and also work for National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine, Loughborough. I am a core member of the East Midlands Sarcoma Services and perform soft tissue / bone sarcoma imaging at the University Hospitals of Leicester.
I have a keen interest in the soft tissue and bone sarcoma imaging and have been instrumental in developing these services at the University Hospitals of Leicester. I perform high resolution ultrasound scans of the soft tissue lumps and bumps which help to identify the true nature of the lump and guides towards the correct treatment. This service is loved by my patients and greatly appreciated by surgeons. I also have special interest in the sports related bone and soft tissue injuries and am working for National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine, Loughborough. The NCSEM-EM is one of three hubs forming the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine England, along with London and Sheffield. I specialise in the imaging and management of the acute, chronic soft tissue and bone injuries related to sports, like Achilles tendon problems, stress injuries and tendinosis. I perform the latest, innovative and evidence based procedures for treatment of these conditions. I have an interest in the imaging of back problems including chronic lower back pain. I also perform complex spinal procedures under image guidance (CT scan and X-ray guided) including spinal nerve blocks, facet blocks and bone biopsies. I also perform imaging for arthritis including inflammatory spinal disease, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. I perform high resolution ultrasound scans of the small joints of the hands and feet to detect early signs of inflammation in the joints. I take immense pride in my work keeping patient care at the heart of everything I do. I have trained extensively; starting with a competitive MD degree in Radiodiagnosis in India followed by the five years of radiology training at University Hospitals of Leicester, inclusive of the musculoskeletal Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. Eight years of radiology training after my basic medical degree has developed me into a confident and safe musculoskeletal radiologist. I am a friendly, approachable doctor and have time for my patients and make every effort to provide the best for them.
In addition to my clinical work, I am involved in the radiology training for junior doctors and radiographers. I am presently the Royal college tutor for Leicester radiology training scheme.
