I am a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester, specialising in the diagnosis and management of all respiratory conditions. I qualified from the University of Leicester in 2010 with a distinction and bring a wealth of experience and expertise to each patient encounter. My unwavering commitment to excellence drives me to provide the highest level of care ensuring my patients remain at the heart of every consultation.
I am well-versed in treating all respiratory conditions, with particular expertise in interstitial lung disease (ILD) which includes conditions such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, connective tissue disease-related lung disease, environmental/inhalational lung disease, among many others. I am approved to prescribe specialist anti-fibrotic treatments such as pirfenidone and nintedanib and run a specialist clinic at Glenfield Hospital where I receive referrals from across the region.
I am a member of the British Thoracic Society's ILD Specialist Advisory Group providing expert opinion and advising on matters which have helped shape patient care in the UK.
My dedication to advancing medical knowledge has led me to pursue a higher degree and complete a PhD focused on predicting survival in patients with ILD. My research findings have been published in the most highly regarded respiratory journals, and I have been privileged to present at international conferences, receiving recognition through several awards. I actively participate in various national and international research groups, exploring novel approaches to treating and monitoring ILD patients.
I regularly lecture to general practitioners, hospital doctors and medical students and hold a postgraduate certificate in medical education. My expertise extends beyond language barriers, as I am multilingual, fluent in Hindi and Urdu, with an understanding of Gujarati and Punjabi. This enables me to provide personalised and effective care, ensuring that every patient's needs are comprehensively addressed.
