With over 10 years since I began my specialist training in renal medicine, I've been working as a Nephrology consultant since early 2020. I have significant expertise in kidney transplantation, alongside chronic kidney disease including end-stage and all forms of renal replacement therapy. Additionally, acute kidney injury (AKI), and post AKI management.
I specialise in acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, end-stage kidney disease and dialysis, kidney transplantation, hypertension and diabetes management, kidney disease and pregnancy and interventional nephrology.
I also have in-depth knowledge in vasculitis, and the complex relationship between kidneys and other associated medical problems such as heart disease, diabetes and hypertension management; pregnant women with kidney disease and highly skilled in interventional procedures such as biopsies, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis catheters insertion . Most importantly the correct use of drugs in patients with kidney disease according to their current renal function. In my day to day, I'm also an educational supervisor of renal trainees and I manage one of the largest Nephrology services in the country.
I'm a dedicated nephrologist with over 10 years of experience in diagnosing, treating and managing kidney-related disorders. I have a deep passion for patient care and I specialise in a wide range of nephrological conditions, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, kidney transplantation and monitoring kidney health in pregnant women; I'm also skilled in numerous nephrology procedures, such as kidney and transplant biopsy, catheter insertion for both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Having trained in 2 countries, I have observed and learned from numerous educators but also from a vast amount of patients; I'm commited to advancing the field through continuous research and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to provide personlised treatment plans. I'm known for a compassionate approach and take pride in educating patients about kidney health and prevention, ensuring optimal outcomes for individuals at every stage of their treatment.
In addition to my clinical work, I actively participate in clinical trials, for example in chronic kidney disease, transplantation, nephrology obstetrics and glomerulonephritis, contributing to innovations in Nephrology.
I'm passionate about quality care and helping patients to develop a good knowledge and understanding of their problems. As a lead for a large Nephrology network in the East Midlands I'm concerned about prevention of chronic kidney disease and timely treatment to avoid complications.
