I have special clinical interest in child and adolescent depression, personality disorders, early childhood trauma, attachment disorders, anxiety disorders, gender identity disorders, psychosomatic/liaison psychiatry and wellbeing and safeguarding of children and families.

I undertake assessments and treatments of the following clinical presentations Child and adolescent depression, Personality disorders, Early childhood trauma, separation/ adoption, family loss/ bereavement, Attachment disorders, Anxiety disorders, Gender identity disorders, Psychosomatic and medically unexplained symptoms, Chronic medical illness and impact on mental health, Specific learning disorders / educational difficulties and impact on mental health and Anxiety and related disorders in Asperger syndrome / high functioning autism.

I use a variety of specialised individual and systemic therapeutic approaches, with some of them such as Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Mentalisation-Based Treatment, Family Therapy and Parental Counselling in preventing and treating mental health disorders in children and adolescents.

I hold a Professorship Post, and my passion and academic interest is in developing interventions for prevention of mental illness and early intervention with children, young people and families, and especially in families with parental mental illness.

I am a Named Doctor for Safeguarding Children, and I have written a range of specialised CAMHS and safeguarding reviews, protocols and procedures, policy and strategy papers, clinical audits and papers in peer reviewed journals. I have organised, chaired and presented at a number of regional, national and international workshops and conferences.

I am actively involved in exercise and sport and I have played volleyball in a Yugoslavian national league. Currently I am active in watersports, skiing, swimming, CrossFit, and British Military Fitness Training. I have recently started cycling again. I am interested in art, theatre, music, live concerts and, in general, I love being outdoors.
