I have been a GP since 2001 and a partner at Burbage surgery since 2004. It gives me huge satisfaction treating a wide variety of patients with many different complaints. Having trained in Leicester, both at the University and on the GP training scheme, I have got to know many of my consultant colleagues and the hospitals well. A gap year at age 30 to New Zealand helped broaden my horizons before returning to Burbage to take up my current post.
I have been able to develop my interest in ENT and run a stand-alone clinic as well as working as a clinical assistant. I also have interests in asthma/COPD, orthopaedic medicine and joint injections.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Phil Thomason at Spire include:

Out of work I am married to Kirsty and we have one son. Away from them I am a keen sportsman, especially on the golf course, playing for Leicestershire for the last 10 years and having been County Captain for four years. I play five a-side football when the knees allow and also badminton. I enjoy watching cricket and the Tigers.
