I am an NHS Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon with specialist expertise in hip and knee replacements, revision knee surgery and knee ligament reconstruction. My NHS practice is at the University Hospitals of Leicester and I have a private practice at the Spire Leicester Hospital.
I specialise in hip and knee replacements, knee revision surgery and knee joint preserving surgeries such as articular cartilage transplantation, partial knee replacements and knee osteotomies. I have performed more than 1000 hip and knee replacements to date.
I graduated with Distinction from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2003. I undertook my surgical training in Birmingham and Leicester before embarking on a one year hip/knee sub-specialty fellowship training at the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, London. I gained experience in all aspects of hip and knee surgery under the supervision of Mr Carrington, Mr Skinner, Mr Miles and Professor Briggs.
I was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in Leicester in March 2016.
I was also awarded the EFORT travelling fellowship enabling me to visit units in Switzerland (Uniklinik Balgrist, Zurich) and Germany (Endo-Klinik, Hamburg). This provided me with valuable surgical experience to improve the care that I provide to my patients.
