Over 12 years experience as a Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialisation in Lids, Lacrimal and Orbital pathology. I have completed 2 fellowships in Oculoplastics (in Moorfields and Leicester) consolidating the expertise in advanced surgical or non-surgical treatments in the region of the eyelids. I work in a teaching hospital with a large busy practice with tertiary referrals.
My field of specialisation of Oculoplastics to includes eyelid malposition eg ectropion/entropion, blocked tear ducts/watery eye, thyroid eye disease, misdirected lashes, blepharoplasties, lower eye lid bags, dry eyes, blepharitis, eyelid skin cancer, eyelid Lumps and Bumps eg styes and blepharospasm/Hemifacial spasm (Botox).
I perform more than 6-9 eyelid/lacrimal surgeries per week both in the private sector and on the NHS. I have performed thousands of several eyelid operations and regularly audits the surgical results that confirm a high success rate in the annual appraisal.
I have over 12 years experience in training and mentoring other Oculoplastics fellows, Doctors in Training, Nurses and Allied Professionals.
Having published several papers in highly regarded peer-reviewed journals, I also regularly attend conferences to keep up to date.

This initiative aims to equip these doctors with advanced skills and expertise, enabling them to return to Malta and enhance the quality of healthcare provided to the local communities.
