I am a UK trained, Consultant Dermatologist and fellowship-trained Skin Surgeon on the specialist register for Dermatology. I am recognised nationally in the field of skin surgery and skin cancer and have been awarded numerous national prizes from the British Association of Dermatology and UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network (UKDCTN).
I have extensive experience as a general Dermatologist and enjoy helping patients with problematic skin rashes including itchy or dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, acne, hives, melasma, vitiligo, hair loss, nail problems and excessive sweating.
I have performed over 2,500 skin procedures with excellent results and can remove any unwanted skin lesions including moles, warts, skin tags and cysts including on the head and neck. I also perform mole mapping using a dermatoscope to screen for skin cancer.
Above all, I enjoy working closely with each patient to determine the correct diagnosis and management tailored to individual needs and expectations. I pride myself on being a good listener and providing a positive consultation experience to ensure patients are satisfied with the care they receive. I also like to be available to respond to any queries after the consultation and to clarify information or advise further where necessary.
I am a nationally elected member of the British Society of Dermatological Surgery Executive committee, having built a notable reputation across the UK for contributing to surgical outcomes and national agenda. I am passionate about improving the environmental sustainability of healthcare and am leading a sub-specialty group to develop national guidance in this area.
Locally, I am working with partners across the Black Country to develop a regional service for Mohs Micrographic surgery, which is a highly specialised technique for removing certain types of skin cancer. I am also leading a national study to set priorities for research in the UK around skin cancer and have founded the national skin surgery research collaborative which seeks to bring patients and clinicians together to improve patient outcomes.
I remain a mentor for research development and a member of the UKDCTN trials generation panel. During my training, I was awarded with Honors as one of the top performing graduates at The University of Birmingham and awarded the West Midlands Dermatology Trainee of the Year Prize for outstanding practice in leadership, clinical practice, research and teaching.
