I qualified in Medicine at the University of Birmingham in 1998. I completed my medical training in the West Midlands and obtained my PhD at Keele University in 2010. I have been a Consultant Rheumatologist since 2009 based at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.
I specialise in rheumatology. My specific interest includes early inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and lung disease related to rheumatic/connective tissue disease. I also treat a variety of other conditions including all types of inflammatory arthritis, back pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, chronic pain/fibromyalgia, connective tissue disease and other conditions including vasculitis and polymyalgia rheumatica. I am also experienced in a variety of soft tissue and joint injections.
Within my NHS practice, I have additional leadership roles and am currently Clinical Audit Lead for the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and Deputy Lead for the Trust Undergraduate Academy which is affiliated to the University of Birmingham Medical School. In addition to my clinical work, I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
