I have been within the field of oncology and palliative care since 2003 as Lead Clinical Psychologist and then becoming the Consultant Clinical Psychologist as of 2010. I support patients, carers and staff who work within the field of cancer and palliative care. I provide one to one support for patients and carers, as well as group support in the form of Mindfulness groups and Living with and Beyond cancer (survivor-ship group).
Cancer and palliative care treatments is my core specialist area, I enjoy working with people and helping them to grow and develop. This usually takes the form of individual consultation and therapeutic input. My expertise is assisting people in a wide range of areas: from dealing with traumatic life threatening events to managing transitions, adjustments and family dynamics, to coping with pain and sleep difficulties.
I provide a lot of teaching and training to staff in the form of Level 1 and Level 2 skills, along with Advance Care Planning training to name a few. I also provide ongoing supervision to Clinical Nurse Specialists which is a mandatory aspect of the Cancer Peer Review process to ensure clinical governance and safe practice.
