I have been working as a consultant for over 11 years and during that time have gained large experience in diagnosing and treating all diseases of the nose including blocked nose, nasal polyps, nasal allergy and sinusitis. I have become very experienced in nasal reconstruction and rhinoplasty surgery and my excellent results have been presented at both national and international academic surgical meetings.
I offer a general ENT service for all types of ENT conditions in both adults and children. I specialise in diseases of the nose and globus (the feeling of a lump in the throat). I offer cosmetic surgery procedures for the nose and ear. In addition to more standard ENT procedures, I offer lower pain coblation tonsillectomy, balloon sinuplasty and image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS).
I strive to promote high-quality, personalised service, tailored to your needs. Good communication is paramount and I will allow adequate time to thoroughly assess your condition, to explain my findings in a language you understand and to fully discuss your various treatment options.
Having graduated from the University of Oxford Medical School, I trained in ENT surgery in the Northwest, spending time in the three Manchester Teaching Hospitals and a year at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. In addition to my training in general ENT for both adults and children, I have sub-specialised in the fields of rhinology (diseases of the nose) and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. To further develop my training in these disciplines I spent additional training time in North America and Europe where I won the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship in 2005, after which I successfully sat the American Board Exams in Facial Plastic Surgery. Since then I have become internationally board-certified in this field.
In addition to my clinical work, I have interests in medical education. I sit on the higher ENT surgical training committee in the West Midlands and am an educational supervisor to two Specialist Registrars in the NHS. I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer for the University of Birmingham and am an examiner for the medical school. I am a member of the court of examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and regularly sit as an examiner for the Intercollegiate DOHNS exams in ENT surgery nationally.

I am married with two children. Outside work I like to spend time with my family. I enjoy cooking and have a food/wine appreciation. I like to support my son's sporting endeavours and regularly support them from the touchline at their rugby and hockey matches.
I help support the local Sutton Coldfield hockey club. I am an enthusiastic (but not very expert) skier and enjoy sailing and cycling. We like to travel as a family and explore new countries and cultures. When time permits I enjoy learning about medical and military history.
