Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
Over the last 14 years, I have trained in some of the biggest and best surgical units in the country. I offer keyhole surgery for all types of hernias and gall stones where appropriate. I also offer consultations and modern techniques for the management of haemorrhoids, anal fissures and anal fistulas. I have performed well over 5,000 major and minor surgeries and have trained many junior surgeons and several consultant colleagues in major keyhole colorectal resections.
I have particular skills in keyhole surgery. Almost 90% of my major colorectal surgery is performed by keyhole means. I have particular skills in using keyhole means for re-do surgery. I have a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease) and perform complex operations for these conditions often by keyhole. I am currently the lead Inflammatory Bowel Disease Surgeon at SWBH.
I am also highly trained and interested in the treatment of functional disorders of the pelvic floor. I offer state of the art treatments for incontinence, constipation and prolapse. I also have a busy practice in the management of cancer of the Colon and Rectum. I am an accredited colonoscopist and perform these tests to look for bowel cancer and offer surgery when needed.
I qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2004 and since then I have undergone the highest level of training in general and colorectal surgery. These include University Hospital Birmingham, Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Cambridge University Hospital. My training culminated in being selected for the prestigious “John Goligher Fellowship in advanced Coloproctology” in Leeds. During this fellowship, I developed highly specialised skills in keyhole surgery, bowel cancer surgery, surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and the management of functional problems of the pelvic floor (particularly prolapse, constipation and faecal incontinence). I have further developed these skills during my own consultant practice and I often help other consultant colleagues with the more difficult and challenging cases.
I hold the following managerial positions; Surgical Tutor – Royal college of Surgeons, Lead IBD Surgeon, Consultant Sponsor – FINCH service (Nurse led pelvic floor service at SWBH).
In addition to my extensive clinical training, I was awarded the "Master of Surgery" degree by the University of Edinburgh. During this degree, I was examined to the highest level about my knowledge of General and Colorectal Surgery and I had to submit a dissertation on my research in to "Enhanced recovery after Colorectal surgery". My research has subsequently been presented and published nationally and internationally.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Rajeev Peravali at Spire include:

I am now also qualified to carry out the eXroid® electrotherapy treatment so that I can offer an alternative treatment for Haemorrhoid patients.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Little Aston Hospital.
