I completed my trauma and orthopaedic training in the West Midlands, as part of the Warwick Orthopaedic Training Programme. I undertook sub-specialist training at the Derby Upper Limb Unit and Pulvertaft Hand Centre, an internationally recognised unit specialising in complex upper limb surgery.
My practice covers all aspects of upper limb surgery, I perform a range of complex shoulder, elbow and hand operations. I treat both elective and trauma patients, with a specialist interest in 3D computer guided shoulder replacement surgery and arthroscopic procedures.
To date I have performed over 100 shoulder replacements and carried out over 1,000 arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder surgeries, which include rotator cuff repairs, shoulder stabilisation, frozen shoulder release and acromioclavicular joint excisions.
I have completed several courses relevant to my specialty, published research articles and have been actively involved in teaching, audit, leadership and quality improvement. I was appointed as a substantive upper limb consultant at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust in June 2021.
In addition to my clinical work, I have taken up roles as trauma lead and quality improvement lead for the division of surgery. I am a strong believer of innovation and quality improvement, and have a passion to develop new ideas and pathways to improve efficiency and clinical care for my patients. I completed the BOA Future Leaders Programme which aims to create leaders with the skills and knowledge to improve the delivery of clinical care and influence positive change within our profession.
