I am a consultant plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon. I perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to the breast and body including; breast lift surgery, breast reduction, breast implant surgery, breast augmentation, breast reconstruction surgery, male breast reduction (surgery for gynaecomastia), fat transfers and abdominoplasty procedures.
I also perform ear plastic surgery including ear pinning and split ear lobe correction, as well as liposuction procedures including; thigh liposuction, fat transfers, tummy liposuction, scar revision as well as mole, skin tag and cyst removal.
I obtained my primary medical degree (MB ChB) from the University of Patras, Greece and continued my general surgical and advanced plastic surgery training in the UK. Prior to starting my higher specialist training in plastic surgery, I completed a three year long research fellowship on malignant melanoma at the University of Sheffield. This work led to a PhD awarded to me by the University of Sheffield in 2004.
I undertook a six year specialist training programme in plastic surgery at South Manchester University Hospital and the Christie Hospital, the largest cancer centre in Europe, acquiring skills in breast and skin cancer reconstructive surgery. I completed a 12 month specialist breast reconstruction fellowship at City Hospital, Birmingham and subsequently spent six months on a prestigious fellowship on microsurgical reconstruction of the breast at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, Canada, one of the largest centres for microsurgery in North America.
In 2011 I was appointed to my first NHS Consultant post in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. I moved to City Hospital, Birmingham in 2012 to work as a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a specialist interest in breast reconstruction. I left the NHS to concentrate on my private practice in July 2017, aiming to continue providing the highest quality, safe surgical care with an individualised approach to my patients’ needs and expectations.
One of the most common questions I get asked during consultations for cosmetic surgery is “How soon can I have the procedure?” Of course it is understandable that having made the decision to have a cosmetic procedure is exciting, it is very important that enough time is given after the consultation to reflect upon everything discussed.
It is my usual practice to offer everyone who consults with me the opportunity to book a second consultation free of charge, so that they have enough time to consider everything that we discussed.
