Opening weeks of the coronavirus NHS partnership

23 April 2020

The team at Spire Little Aston Hospital are celebrating after successfully operating on 120 time-critical patients in the opening weeks of the coronavirus crisis NHS partnership.

Hospital Director Ed Ireland praised everyone involved and said it was ‘just a start’ as the hospital now gears up to broaden the treatments it can offer.

“We have already carried out over 60 vital breast cancer procedures as well as dealing with gynaecological and urology cancers and dermatology procedures.

“I’m proud to say we really are making an impact on the NHS waiting lists – everyone at Little Aston has responded to the challenge and we have received great feedback from patients and consultants alike.

“We hit the ground running and all the signs are that our partnership with the NHS is going to be a very successful one and something we will be able to look back on with a great deal of pride and satisfaction.”
