My knee has been giving me some considerable discomfort for some years now. This, I believe was arthritis and general wear and tear due to a long, very active life. Mr Goswami discovered that the cartilage in my knee had completely worn away and I would require a knee replacement.
After discussion with him and having done some research, I decided that without any question the Mako robotic procedure was the best way forward.

The procedure was successfully performed by the talented Mr Goswami and his equally talented team..... they really were amazing. I found every member of the team to be extremely professional. Dr Schilling the anaesthetist talked me through the entire procedure. The nursing staff made my stay as comfortable as possible and looked after my every need, even the ladies that brought my food were very caring. I was amazed at how efficacious a smile and a cup of tea could be. The whole team from secretary Ann, to physiotherapist Kelly, were exemplary in their professionalism.

As a result of the robotic procedure, I was walking well without a stick in two weeks and driving my car in three weeks, quite remarkable!

Full recovery is, however, a long process and some days are better than others. I would say to anybody considering this procedure to be patient! Do exactly what Mr Goswami tells you to do, and do exactly what the physiotherapist tells you to do. Persevere and you will get there. It’s four months now for me and I really feel that I am the road to a full recovery .... but I have learned that it will take longer. I take my medication at night, I exercise, and as Mr Goswami says, ”Ice, ice, ice”. I have booked to go travelling in India and Nepal this coming May and to Vietnam in August. I feel more than confident that I will be able to undertake this trip and enjoy my travelling once again.

I would thoroughly recommend anybody considering surgery to go ahead with this procedure. You will not regret it.
