BSc, MBBS, MRCP
I decided on a career in dermatology at an early stage in my training when I was awarded the dermatology prize in my final year at medical school. I graduated with double honours in surgery and pathology from Guy's Medical School in 1992. My dermatology training was completed at The St John's Institute of Dermatology St Thomas' Hospital, St Mary's Hospital Paddington and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
During my training I undertook two years academic research into the immunopathology of inflammatory skin disease, in particular psoriasis and eczema, and have presented this work at numerous national and international dermatology conferences as well as publishing many articles in scientific journals. I am also the author of two dermatology text books, one a general dermatology text and atlas and the other specifically focusing on psoriasis.
I was appointed dermatology consultant at King George Hospital in 2003 and continue to work as a full-time NHS Consultant in addition to my private practice.
