"Spire hospitals have a patient centred approach with great facilities and relaxed yet professional atmosphere."
I started my orthopaedic training in Cambridge (Eastern Deanery) followed by the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Training Programme in Northeast Thames London. I completed my higher surgical training and entered the specialist register in 2015. Following this, I had been awarded several prestigious and accredited fellowships to specialise in upper limb surgery. I had obtained further subspecialty training at the Royal Free Hospital (2015), the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (Arthrex fellowship 2016), University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (2016) and the Wrightington hospital (2017).
I had started as a consultant in University Birmingham Hospitals in 2018 but relocated back to London in mid-2018 for family reasons. I had also been awarded the prestigious British Shoulder & Elbow Society travelling fellowship in 2016 and had carried out visiting fellowship in the Hospital for Special Surgery (New York), the Mayo Clinic (Rochester), Fundación Jiménez Díaz (Madrid), University Hospital Amphia (Holland), Hospital Az Minoca Antwerpen (Belgian). I continued to pursue cutting edge and innovative surgeries for my patients by travelling around the world yearly to prestigious centers to interact and acquire new skills.
My NHS upper limb practice is broad based, including rotator cuff repair and reconstruction keyhole surgery, shoulder stabilisation, shoulder replacements, trapeziectomy, finger and thumb joints replacement, ligament reconstruction in shoulder (acromioclavicular joint), elbow, hand and wrists, carpal tunnel decompression, elbow PRP injections and arthroscopy (keyhole), tennis and golfer’s elbow surgery, trigger finger release, Dupuytren’s surgery, keyhole hand and wrist surgery. I specialise in wide awake local anaesthesia no torniquet (WALANT) surgery for the hand and wrist.
I published on techniques for regional anaesthesia for upper limb surgeries where complex shoulder surgeries such as shoulder replacements were carried out with only regional anaesthesia to reduce the impact on general anaesthesia on the health of the patients.
I am a reviewer for peer reviewed orthopaedic journal and had extensively published. I am a principal investigator in multicentre trial and faculty member on training courses for orthopaedic surgeon. I am heavily involved in research and academic activities and had delivered lectures for junior trainees as well as supervising master’s degrees from UCLH and Queen Mary Medical school. My special research interest is in Orthopaedic biomechanical engineering where I am currently completing a doctorate degree.
