Spire Roding wins CHKS Data Quality Award for independent providers
11 May 2017
Spire Roding Hospital has won the 2017 CHKS Top Hospitals programme data quality award for independent providers. The CHKS Top Hospitals awards celebrate excellence throughout the UK and are given to acute sector organisations for their achievements in healthcare quality and improvement.
The data quality award is a national award given in recognition of the importance of clinical coding and data quality, and the essential role they play in ensuring appropriate patient care and financial reimbursement from commissioners.
CHKS, a company part of Capita Healthcare Decisions helping to improve quality and outcomes, has used over 27 years of experience in the analysis of hospital data to decide the indicators on which each of the Top Hospitals programme awards are judged. Awards are made on the basis of an analysis of publicly available datasets and independent sector hospitals across England, Wales and Northern Ireland were included in this category.
Andy Lockwood, managing director, Capita Healthcare Decisions, said: “The staff and management team at Spire Roding Hospital should take pride in having won this award. It is made on the basis of analysis of impartial indicators and shows a real commitment to improving data quality which is the starting point for improving services for patients.”
Jo Dean, Hospital Director, Spire Roding Hospital, said: “I am so proud of the team here at The Spire Roding Hospital. We are focused on making a difference every day, and winning this award is a clear reflection of our team’s hard work on ensuring that high quality data is captured to deliver outstanding services, which make a difference to our patients.”
The CHKS Top Hospitals programme awards were held in London on the 10 May and hosted by health policy analyst Roy Lilley alongside guest speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt OBE. Over 200 guests attended including leaders from across the healthcare sector including: BMA, NHS Digital, Royal College of Emergency Medicine, NHS Improvement and acute trusts.
