I am a Consultant Gynaecologist specialising in paediatric, adolescent and adult gynaecology conditions. My NHS practice is at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester, this is where I lead the emergency gynaecology service and I'm also the lead for paediatric and adolescent gynaecology. I receive referrals for gynaecology patients from across the North West region.
I qualified at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad in 1996. I then trained in Manchester and the Northwest Region and qualified as a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2002. I then completed my specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2009. This included training in gynaecology ultrasound scanning, minimal access surgery and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology. My training in gynaecology was at Liverpool and London.
I have a keen interest in teaching and training and I'm on the Education Board in St Mary's Hospital. I am educational supervisor for several obstetric and gynaecology trainees. I'm also a national committee member of the British Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology and am very active in this regard.
I also have my own podcast called "I forgot to ask the doctor", click the link to find out more.
