I am a Consultant Gynaecologist at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. I am a general gynaecologist and take on the lead role in colposcopy and hysteroscopy services in the department. My initial training was in India and I furthered my specialist training in the UK.
My undergraduate medical training was in India and my specialist training in Gynaecology was in the UK. My postgraduate specialist training was in the deanery of London and KSS. I moved up in the North West with my family in 2013 to take up my current post.
I have undertaken extensive training in the RCOG curriculum and have completed my advanced training modules in colposcopy, gynaecological ultrasound, management of early pregnancy, benign open and laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy and diagnosis and management of early gynaecological cancers.
My special interest lies in managing women with menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and cervical problems like abnormal smears. I run one-stop clinics to try and investigate and treat women with the above problems with a minimum number of visits.
I believe outpatient management of gynaecological problems help women get back to their normal lives quicker with minimal disruption. Most of my procedures are either outpatient or day case to achieve this.
I am actively involved in teaching and training nurses and junior doctors and GPs. I also lead clinical risk and governance for gynaecology.
