I am a General and Colorectal Surgeon at the University Hospital of South Manchester, and took this position in July 2012. My work involves the treatment of kidney, gallbladder, and gallstones removal.
I completed my medical training in BJ Medical College and David Sassoon Hospital in Pune India, followed by a three year general surgical residency training in SMS College and Hospital in Jaipur, India.
I moved to Yorkshire in 2001 and underwent basic surgical training (2001 - 2003) in Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. I then undertook basic sciences and clinical research under Professor John Monson and Professor Lesley Walker, culminating in an MD in 2005. In 2005, I started my specialist registrar training in the Yorkshire Deanery. I have trained in Leeds, Hull and Sheffield amongst other hospitals in Yorkshire.
I also went for a three month pelvic floor and proctology fellowship to Mannheim, Germany and worked with Professor Alex Herold. After obtaining CCT and completing my specialist registrar training in June 2011, I went to Rochester, New York USA for a colorectal fellowship to further my experience in colorectal surgery.
