I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2014. Having completed my specialist training in the North West, I spent a year undertaking a specialist fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty and pelvic and acetabular reconstruction at St George's Hospital, London.
On my return to the North West, I was appointed as a consultant at Wrightington Hospital, one of the five specialist centres for orthopaedics within England.
I work as a high volume hip and knee replacement surgeon, performing over 150 such procedures every year.
I also work as a member of the North West Pelvis and Acetabular Service, managing and treating patients referred for specialist treatment from centres all over the North West of England.
I am extremely keen on professional education and sit on the Specialist Training Committee for Orthopaedics in the North West. I also teach on a number of courses run locally, nationally and internationally, including courses on hip replacement surgery, revision hip replacement surgery and trauma.

Major Trauma Lead Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. As the Major Trauma Lead for a full trauma centre within the North West, I am responsible for the delivery of high level, multidisciplinary trauma care based at the Royal Preston Hospital. This role covers all aspects from the pre-hospital care of the patient, the emergency management, surgical and ward based treatment to their rehabilitation post injury.
I have published a number of peer reviewed papers in medical journals, book chapters in orthopaedic text books and question books for junior surgeons to prepare for exams.

I enjoy participating in and watching most sports. I am particularly keen on skiing, having previously worked as a ski instructor in Tremblant, Canada. I continue to play recreational cricket and spend most weekends watching my three children play football, hockey, lacrosse, netball or tennis.
