I am a senior highly specialised Consultant in Spinal Surgery. My NHS practice is based at Salford Royal NHS Trust, the busiest centre for spinal surgery in the country and one of the largest in Europe. I have been a consultant member of the Complex Spinal Surgery team at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences since 2010.
I completed my advanced Fellowship training in Spinal Surgery in Manchester and Birmingham. Having been awarded the prestigious Soli Lam Spinal Fellowship by the British Orthopaedic Association in 2008/9 I have undertaken fellowships in renowned centres for Spinal Surgery in Germany and Switzerland.
I have a keen interest in research and have authored over 35 peer reviewed publications with over 1,200 citations of my work. I am actively involved in teaching and training of medical students, trainee surgeons, physiotherapists as well as mentoring and assisting other spinal surgeons.
I specialise in all aspects of spinal surgery, my expertise ranges from the non-operative treatment of neck and back pain to complex clinical problems such as complex adult deformity and revision surgery.
