BSc Hons Physiotherapy, MSc Sport & Exercise Medicine, MCSP, MHCPC
Having graduated in Physiotherapy from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2012, and after coaching soccer in USA for 9 months during 2013, I initially gained experience within the musculoskeletal department at NHS Ipswich Hospital.
However, in Feb 2014 I joined Lancashire County Cricket Club as assistant physiotherapist. I spent 2 seasons with the team gaining knowledge in the management of the injured athlete and sport specific rehabilitation with a focus on the upper limb.
In September 2014, I started University of Nottingham studying MSc Sport & Exercise Medicine, and a year later joined Notts County Football Club. I spent a short time with the academy before progressing to first team physiotherapist, providing emergency first aid and pitch side cover at all games, whilst taking a lead role in injury management, predominantly lower limb rehabilitation.
During the 2016/17 season I was fortunate to be offered the lead physiotherapy role at Nike Academy based at St George’s Park, working with elite 16-20 year old’s from around the world, solely responsible for the medical management of each player. Following the closure of the Nike Academy at the end of the 2016/17 season, Spire Perform asked me to work at St George’s Park on a temporary contract with the Professional Football Association with current / ex-players with complex injuries specifically post operative hip, knee and ankle.
I have been fortunate to gain extensive experience within sports medicine, having worked with exceptional physiotherapists and sport and exercise medicine consultants.
I joined Spire Manchester in September 2017 as senior physiotherapist.
