Around 2010 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right knee. In 2015 I noticed that similar symptoms were starting to show in my left knee. As a keen skier I continued to endure the discomfort until 2016 when I had to rely on friends co-carry my skis as the weight was too much for my knees. That’s when I arranged to see Mr Newman at the Yorkshire Knee Clinic. I opted for a double half knee replacement and in February 2017 I was given the operation date of 16 May 2017. I immediately started to do the post-op physio exercises and this, I believed, help me to speed up my recovery as it build up my leg muscles prior to the op.
91 days after the operation I was back skiing at Xscape in Castleford, initially taking things easy but by April 2018 I was back in full swing skiing bumps and jumps as you can see on the picture. I had my year review with Mr Newman on the 29 June 2018.
