I have been working as a consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine and also as a clinical lead for acute pain services at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust since February 2016.

I perform over 300 pain management procedures annually.

I obtained a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthetics in August 2015 after completing advanced pain training at one of the well renowned tertiary pain centres, The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool and obtained a Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA).

I have published and presented at national and international levels and I am the course director for a national study day “Joint Management of Joint Pain” which is approved by Royal College of Anaesthetists for CPD.

I have also been the co-organiser for the “Manchester Perioperative Symposium” for the last five years and I am also a reviewer for BMJ case reports. I have regularly participated in service development projects and clinical effectiveness meetings throughout my career.

I recognise audit as a clinical governance tool that can change practice and improve clinical performance and I have also been involved with undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching on a formal and informal basis.

In March 2019 I was recognised as the 'Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine Consultant of the Year' for the North West England in the Global Health and Pharma 2019 Private Healthcare Awards.
