Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I am a hospital consultant in general surgery. My particular areas of interest are colorectal surgery, colorectal oncology and laparoscopic surgery.
As a general surgeon I perform hernia surgery (open or laparoscopic). I am developing a practice in complex hernia surgery and abdominal wall reconstruction, having experienced a busy tertiary referral practice in this, also during my fellowship. I am also happy to manage simple lumps and bumps and minor general surgery procedures. Patients with embarrassing minor perianal conditions are welcome to discuss in confidence their symptoms. Many minor conditions can be indicative of more sinister coloproctology conditions which should not be ignored.
I have completed a National Laparoscopic Fellowship and have completed over 350 laparoscopic colorectal resections, including emergency colorectal resections.
I am a competent endoscopist, performing diagnostic OGD and colonoscopy and therapeutic colonoscopy. I also support the colorectal cancer family history clinic and surveillance programme. I am competent in all aspects of coloproctology, including treatment of piles and fissures, rectal prolapse and pelvic floor disorders.
I am trained in modern haemorrhoid surgery including THD (Transhaemorrhoidal Doppler artery ligation). My practice also includes the management of complex inflammatory bowel disease.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Jeremy Wilson at Spire include:

ATHLETICS: At school I was a keen athlete, representing the school and county for cross country and long distance running. At university I was a member of the university squad and became club captain for the 1995/1996 season. I am now a reluctant fair weather runner.
CYCLING: Previously a keen cyclist, I have completed a coast to coast cycle on four occasions, raising money for charity.
MOTORSPORT: I am a supporter of all motorsports and have participated in rally car driving and track days at Silverstone racetrack on several occasions. My ambition is to build my own kit and car or rally car in the near future.
