Specialises in
Virtual consultations:
I have been the glaucoma lead since taking up my consultant position in early 2012. My NHS practice centres around the care of patients with either glaucoma, raised eye pressures and their associated conditions; and the care of patients with cataract.
With regards to glaucoma, I have an interest in micro-invasive glaucoma surgery, non-penetrating surgery and laser-based treatments. With regards to cataract, I have an interest in patients with complex cases: those who also have astigmatism and patients who wish to reduce their dependence on spectacles through multifocal lens implants.
I have carried out 1,800 cataract operations, 400 glaucoma operations and around 250 glaucoma laser treatments.
I lecture nationally on glaucoma surgery. I also surgically train other consultants and senior trainees through a Royal College-endorsed surgical masterclass.
