Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Wirral Nurse presented with an IRIS award

31 May 2024

In May 2024 Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Wirral hosted an award ceremony on International Nurse’s Day to congratulate and celebrate colleagues’ exceptional contributions to making a positive difference to people’s lives.

Nursing staff from across the hospital came together to celebrate Spire Nurse, Charlotte Dunbavin receiving an IRIS (Inclusive Recognition of Inspirational Staff) award from Professor Lisa Grant, Spire Healthcare’s Group Clinical Director/Chief Nurse.

First introduced in the US, the DAISY awards recognise extraordinary registered nurses and nursing associates who go above and beyond. They have been adopted by thousands of healthcare organisations around the world, and any patient or staff member can nominate a nurse for an award. The IRIS awards have been rolled out at Spire and are designed to complement the DAISY scheme to enable all clinical colleagues to be recognised in a similar way.

Charlotte was nominated by her manager for her willingness to provide excellent, high-quality care for her patients. Charlotte said: “I am speechless and overwhelmed with the recognition and support I have received. I am truly passionate about providing great care to patients and assurance to their families.”

Professor Grant, commented: “I am delighted to celebrate the wonderful nurses across Spire and especially privileged to present Charlotte with the IRIS award for her kindness and compassion she provides to our patients every day.”

Three other nominee’s for the IRIS Award at Spire Murrayfield were Carl Ormond, Hilary Banks and Gareth Stanley. Congratulations to all.
