I have over 30 years experience as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I also trained as a Personal Construct Psychotherapist and specialise in adult mental health and wellbeing.

I specialise in psychological assessment and treatment of mental health problems such as anxiety disorders; depression; low self-esteem; stress; phobias; insomnia; psychological aspects of physical illness; weight management and eating disorders.

I am interested in the influence of nutrition, exercise and the quality of sleep on mental as well as physical wellbeing and I favour a holistic approach when designing therapy programmes to meet the needs and aspirations of patients.

I worked in the NHS for 10 years, both in the psychology outpatient service for people with mental health problems as well as heading a community service for people with learning disabilities. Following this, I moved into full time private practice.

I am a Chartered Scientist and offer evidence-based help, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, for a range of problems. I am also qualified in clinical hypnosis and can employ this as an adjunct to therapy if patients wish to draw on this approach.

I offer cognitive behavioural therapy in line with NICE guidance am also interested in the 'third' wave therapies such as mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and compassion focused therapy, along with the emerging field of positive psychology and happiness research. This enables me to draw from a number of difference influences in order to adopt an integrative approach to my work when appropriate.
