Dr Ajay Kamath specialises in treating respiratory conditions. His special interests are in asthma, emphysema, pneumonia and chest infections with a particular interest in treating difficult asthma and cough. Dr Kamath qualified from the University of Mumbai, India and went on to train in respiratory medicine from KEM Hospital and the University of Mumbai. Later he moved to the UK for higher training in Respiratory Medicine taking specialist registrar posts at Glenfield Hospital (Leicester), Papworth Hospital (Cambridge) and the Norwich University Hospital (Norfolk). This was proceeded by a year out to undertake a Fellowship in Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. Following a period as a Research Fellow in Norwich carrying out clinical research studies in asthma and clinical postings in Norwich, Dr Kamath has taken up a Consultant post at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in 2007.

Dr Kamath is married and is the proud father of 2 young boys. His hobbies are tennis, cricket and cooking. He enjoys reading, music and gardening when he is not running around with the boys.
