Dr Clint Maart

Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist

MBChB(hons), MRCP, MD, MBA

I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, offering comprehensive care for a wide range of heart conditions. With over a decade of experience, I specialise in the diagnosis and management of general cardiology issues, such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, high blood pressure, and heart failure. I am committed to providing patient-centered, compassionate care and ensuring that every treatment plan is tailored to individual needs. As a Principal Investigator in groundbreaking clinical trials, I bring the latest innovations and evidence-based treatments to my patients, helping them achieve the best possible outcomes. Whether you have a specific cardiac concern or are seeking general advice about your heart health, I am here to guide you every step of the way.

In addition to managing a wide range of general heart conditions, I specialise in treatments to improve blood flow to the heart, such as angioplasty using drug coated stents. These procedures can range from routine to more advanced cases, including clearing completely blocked arteries (Chronic Total Occlusions), treating blockages in critical areas like the left main coronary artery, and addressing hardened or calcified arteries using advanced techniques like rotational atherectomy and intravascular lithotripsy. I also use cutting-edge diagnostic technologies, such as pressure wire assessment, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), to ensure the highest level of precision and care.

Since becoming a Consultant Cardiologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in 2017, I perform over 250 angioplasty procedures annually. This amounts to more than 1,750 procedures to date, reflecting my extensive experience in treating coronary artery disease with precision and care.
