Specialises in
I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon. My expertise is in the management of injuries, soft tissue and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist. This includes the use of arthroscopic (keyhole) which is my special interest or open techniques for the treatment of any of the conditions listed in my profile. I make every possible effort to always be updated with the most advanced and effective treatments available in the field of orthopaedics. This provides me the opportunity to offer the best care for my patients.
I have been practising as an Orthopaedic Surgeon for 16 years and developed a keen interest in upper limb very early in my orthopaedic training. I treat injuries involving the entire upper limb, from the clavicle (collarbone) to the finger tips. I have undertaken numerous open and keyhole procedures of the shoulder and elbow joints such as shoulder decompressions, repair of rotator cuff tears, shoulder and elbow stabilisations, shoulder replacements, tendon, nerve and joint releases at the elbow.
I have also performed numerous surgeries of the hand and wrist such as carpal tunnel decompressions, Dupuytren’s contracture releases, trigger finger releases and ganglion excisions. Many of the hand and wrist procedures have been performed as wide awake surgery.
I graduated in India in 2008 and proceeded to complete my Masters in orthopaedic surgery in India. I then received further higher orthopaedic training in the United Kingdom at Kent and Surrey. This was followed by triple specialist upper limb fellowships at prestigious institutes at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), Northumbria NHS and Southmead Hospital, Bristol. I have also been a visiting fellow at centers of excellence in South Korea and Italy. This experience has been invaluable and helped me master the advanced surgical management for disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist.
I am working as a substantive consultant at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn where I also treat general orthopaedic trauma and elective conditions apart from upper limb surgery.
I have published articles relating to upper limb surgery in scientific journals of repute. One of my other significant interests is in medical education and training. I provide formal teaching in upper limb surgery and general orthopaedics and am a recognised educational and clinical supervisor of foundation doctors and orthopaedic trainees.
My patients have always held me in good stead for being empathic and a keen listener. I have routinely been complimented for my communication skills. I consistently ensure that all my patients have a complete understanding of their diagnosis which contributes to a shared decision about their treatment. I remain passionate about offering the highest standards of care to my patients.
