I have more than 15 years experience in ENT. I have performed over 4,000 surgeries in ENT. My higher surgical training was in large teaching hospitals in Egypt and England. I gained wide exposure in all the sub-specialties of ear, nose, and throat surgery during my training.

I am a Consultant ENT / Head and Neck, and Thyroid Surgeon at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. I am a core member of Thyroid and Parathyroid Multidisciplinary groups. I do have clinical sessions at James Paget University Hospital to support Head & Neck and Thyroid cancer treatment there.

I am a Surgical Tutor for The Royal College of Surgeons of England, which is a vital role in supporting the training and education of the next generation of surgeons.

During my training I undertook a masters degree in endoscopic nasal approaches to skull base. I developed an interest in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, and management of voice and swallowing disorders.

Professional leadership

I am a member of the regional thyroid cancer and parathyroid multidisciplinary teams. I am the current lead clinician for thyroid cancer and Head & Neck surgery for James Paget University Hospital as part of my regional rule. I was the clinical governance lead for ENT department at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital before I moved to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. I am the Royal College of Surgeons Tutor for ENT surgery.
