I have worked in the regions Hospitals since 1986. My specialty as an audiologist means that I have been able to help those with hearing loss, tinnitus or other auditory conditions with much success, by utilising technologies and therapies.
For the last 15 years I have had a special clinical interest in developing initiatives used to conserve auditory health and prevent induced tinnitus or deafness.
Along with colleagues I created the region's only dedicated Tinnitus Management Clinic with access to the latest beneficial technologies.
I pride myself in helping to innovate how hearing healthcare is considered and addressed, and continues to drive the necessity for recognition of improvements in these aspects of health.
My interest in motor sport means that I have researched the issue of noise exposure in Formula One and presented papers on the subject both in the UK and overseas, and is an inaugural member of an international committee created by the Health & Safety Executive concerned with developing and implementing improved procedures involved in hearing protection.
