I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Associate Professor with 15 years' experience as a doctor. I specialise in General and Interventional Cardiology and see patients related to all areas of adult cardiology. These include chest pain, breathlessness, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and palpitations.

I have a special interest in the investigation and management of chest pain with angiography and angioplasty/stenting and perform over 250 procedures each year with excellent outcomes. I regularly utilise the latest tools to optimise my patients’ outcomes and am a recognised national expert in using specialist angioplasty tools such as intracoronary physiology and imaging.

I studied physiology and medicine at Cambridge University and University College London. Following this, I was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians whilst training at Hammersmith, UCLH, Harefield and the Royal Brompton Hospitals in London. During my Cardiology training, I did research in Cardiovascular and Coronary Physiology, which was funded by a prestigious British Heart Foundation fellowship. This gained me an award-winning PhD degree from St Thomas' Hospital and the University of London. I completed general and interventional cardiology training at Barts Heart Centre.

I am a Consultant Cardiologist at Glenfield Hospital, a regional centre for cardiac services at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. I am also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at UCLH.

I publish routinely in peer-reviewed journals and continue to play a leading role on national clinical trials. I have written recent medical articles on angina, outcomes after percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary physiology,  management of patients with heart failure.

I am a member of the British Cardiac Society, the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society and the national Working Group on Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction. I have also been awarded a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, FHEA, in recognition for my contribution to Medical Education and training the next generation of Doctors and Heart Specialists.
