I am a Consultant Paediatrician and Training Programme Director. My NHS practice is based at University Hospitals Derby and Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. I qualified in Medicine from University of Mysore Medical College, India in 2000. I then undertook post graduate medical training in Paediatrics in the UK working in different hospitals including John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford, Birmingham Children Hospital and Nottingham University Hospital. I gained by Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2009.

I am on the specialist register with fitness to practice in General Medical Council. I was a Consultant Paediatrician at Chesterfield Royal Hospital from 2014 to 2021.

I am a General Paediatrician with specialist expertise in Paediatric Diabetes. As a general paediatrician I treat and support children with a variety of paediatric problems including recurrent infections, feeding difficulties, cow’s milk protein allergy, childhood constipation, asthma and wheeze, childhood migraine and headaches, urinary tract infections, childhood eczema and common skin problems. I assess children with endocrine problems including thyroid disorder, delayed puberty, precocious puberty and short stature. I also assess children with cardiac murmurs and support the family before the paediatric cardiologist.

I have presented in national paediatric diabetes symposium and diabetes UK conferences. I see patients referred by GPs and colleagues from other paediatric specialties. During the initial consultation which can last up to 45 min, the family have an opportunity to discuss their concerns, I perform a detailed clinical examination and formulate and discuss the management plan. The letter summarising the consultation will be sent to the referring doctor and a copy will be sent to the family.
