I am a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon proficient in the treatment of arterial and venous diseases. My specialist interests include the treatment of varicose veins, aneurysms, circulatory problems, carotid diseases, thoracic outlet syndrome and vascular malformations.

I have been a consultant vascular surgeon in Leicester since 2016 having graduated from Leicester Medical School in 2002. I completed my surgical training locally, followed by a fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge concerned with complex endovascular AAA repair and limb salvage strategies.

I have spent much of my career interested in improving the knowledge of vascular disease. I completed a higher degree (MD) in 2012 studying the link between aortic aneurysms and genetic variations. I have published widely in the field of vascular surgery in both peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. I am currently involved in the supervision of further research and this has led to my recognition as an Honorary Lecturer in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Leicester.

I have always been interested in teaching and advancing the next generation. At present, I am the Core Surgery Training Programme Director in the East Midlands (South), which involves helping the next cohort of surgical trainees obtain their competencies. This also allows me to sit on the Core Surgical Training Advisory Committee and be involved in the national recruitment of Core Surgical Trainees. I am also the regional Director of the Royal College of Surgeons CCrISP course and a faculty member on other courses including the Vascular Limb Salvage Academy and Basic Surgical Skills. I am also a member of the vascular FRCS examination body.

Myself and three fellow vascular surgeons (Mr Gregory McMahon, Mr Robert Davies and Mr Tryfon Vainas) provide specialist vascular and endovascular services in the private sector at Circulation Clinic. Our team working model of care allows our patients to benefit from the experience and expertise of four leading vascular surgeons; all complex arterial and venous cases are discussed within our multidisciplinary team (MDT) and managed within a collaborative working environment, including dual consultant operating lists, ensuring our clients are offered the best treatment available.
