I am a Consultant Spinal Surgeon in Nottingham who specialises in all aspects of adult spinal pathology.

After completing my basic surgical training in the East Midlands (Nottingham and Derby), I embarked on a two-year Doctorate in Medicine (DM) degree at the University of Nottingham. I subsequently completed my higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the East Midlands (North) Deanery where I was privileged to work with leading figures in the fields of spinal surgery and trauma.

After the successful completion of the royal college fellowship exams (FRCS (T&O)) and six years of general orthopaedic training including a whole year of spinal surgery, I was admitted to the GMC specialist register in 2013. Since then, I completed two prestigious fellowships in internationally renowned centres of excellence in spinal surgery; the first year, I spent in the Centre for spinal studies and surgery (CSSS) at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, while my second year was in Canada at the Vancouver Spine Surgery Institute.

During my training, I gained substantial experience in the management of adult spinal pathology and developed an evidence based approach to the treatment of spinal trauma, tumour, degenerative pathology and adult spinal deformity, the latter being my major sub specialist interest.

I maintain an active involvement academically and have published numerous papers and book chapters in international journals and books focused on the field of spinal surgery.
