I have over 30 years’ experience in paediatrics having trained both in the UK and abroad. My private practice closely reflects the work that I do in the NHS at Birmingham Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals. I am a Consultant Paediatrician with expertise in cardiology and am able to provide a on- stop comprehensive assessment, including echocardiography (scan of the heart) for clinical problems such as heart murmurs, faints, palpitations and chest pain. I have gained significant experience in assessing and managing children and young people with symptoms of orthostatic intolerance including postural tachycardia. Over the last two decades I have set up and delivered a specialist cardiology service in my local NHS hospitals.

In addition, my scope of work includes the full range of acute and general paediatrics. As a general paediatrician I routinely assess and manage a number of common paediatric conditions including feeding issues, gastro-oesophageal reflux, colic, cow’s milk protein intolerance/allergy, lactose intolerance, chronic/recurrent diarrhoea, pain abdomen, bowel disorders, constipation, failure to thrive, concerns about weight, growth and development, asthma/hay fever/atopic conditions, bronchiolitis, chest infections, persistent/recurrent cough and wheeze.

I am committed to deliver on excellent patient care and quality improvement. Over the last 15 years I have held a number of senior management roles including Clinical Service Lead, Clinical Director and Deputy Medical Director. I was one of the founder members of Paediatricians with Expertise in Cardiology Special Interest Group and its past Chair and representative to British Congenital Cardiac Association. I have authored/co-authored a number of scientific publications and a book. I remain actively involved in teaching and training which includes regularly contributing to regional higher specialty teaching and national paediatric cardiology courses.

I am the paediatric representative to the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at Spire Parkway Hospital. My responsibilities include developing paediatrics, liaising with other members of the paediatric team and management, to support and enhance clinical governance and safeguarding.
