"Being able to provide holistic care to children is not possible without a nurturing, friendly and supportive environment and Spire hospitals are second to none at providing this."
I have over 30 years’ experience in paediatrics and I feel privileged to have therefore uniquely qualified to help children with a wide range of health issues. Having worked at senior positions both in the UK and abroad, I have extended my ability to deal in a multilingual setting. Further to general paediatric issues, I have special expertise in the management of UTI, bed wetting, enuresis and bladder conditions. Over the last two decades, I have led and initiated special clinics for this in many of the local hospital Trusts.
I specialise in general paediatric conditions; feeding issues, gastro-oesophageal reflux, colic, cow’s milk protein intolerance/allergy, lactose intolerance, chronic/recurrent diarrhoea, heart murmur, pain abdomen, bowel disorders, constipation, failure to thrive, concerns about weight, growth and development, asthma/hay fever/atopic conditions, fits, faints, funny turns, chest infections, wheeze and general paediatric allergy disorder.
Having worked with children for over 30 years, I have seen and managed thousands of children in the UK and abroad. Having developed special expertise in uro-nephrology I conducted more than 75 peritoneal dialysis in India and managed hundreds of cases with dilated kidneys (hydronephrosis, dysplastic/MCDK), UTI and incontinence over the last two decades.
I am a Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) rep and Lead Paediatrician at Spire Little Aston Hospital. My responsibilities include developing paediatrics, liaising with the paediatric team and the management, and to support and enhance clinical governance and safeguarding activities.
I am proud to be part of Birmingham University, currently as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Birmingham University Medical School. I served at St George's School of Medicine, Grenada as an Associate Professor of paediatrics until 2015. I was lead of paediatric education for Keele Medical School, and have been heavily involved in quality improvement activities with West Midlands Deanery, Royal Colleges and CQC. I am a member of the Grand Advisory council for BAPIO, and served as an ex-member of their national executive committee, and lead of West Midlands division.
I am also a qualified life/relationship coach. This gives me an edge by being able to relate to parents and children at an empathic level and work in partnership with a full understanding of their physical and emotional needs.
