I have been a Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon in one of the largest Plastic Surgery Departments in the UK in Salisbury, Wiltshire from 2007 to 2014 and since, a Consultant in the prestigious Birmingham Children’s Hospital. I am also an Honorary Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby. Next to my NHS commitment, I have been in private practice since 2008.
My interest within plastic surgery is upper limb, hand and wrist surgery including, wrist arthroscopy and paediatric/congenital upper limb surgery. Hand and wrist conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic arthritis and acute trauma of hand and wrist, congenital conditions, ganglia, nerve compressions (carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel), Dupuytren’s contracture, trigger fingers and thumb base pain. Within plastic surgery, I see patients for reconstruction of post-traumatic conditions, skin lesions, scar treatment, as well as general plastic surgery procedures.
Within my interest in cosmetic surgery, I offer body shaping (ie liposuction, tummy tuck, lifting procedures), face rejuvenation (Botox® and fillers), pinnaplasty, breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, uplift), labial surgery, skin lesions and scar revisions.
I further treat children with a variety of plastic surgery conditions.
I trained in Heidelberg, Mannheim, Dublin, Singapore and Indonesia, where I qualified as a specialist General Surgeon in 2000 and as a Plastic Surgeon in one of the biggest plastic surgery units in Europe (Ludwigshafen, Germany) in 2006. My hand surgery fellowship qualified me as a Hand Surgeon in 2007. I joined the wrist arthroscopy tour in France 2008 and did advanced training in wrist arthroscopy in Strasbourg, France and Derby, UK.
Also with my surgical training, I hold a Master degree in Healthcare Management at the University of Mannheim, Germany and a degree in European Healthcare Leadership at the INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France. I was granted an award for the Leadership Award Scheme by the Health Foundation, London in 2009. I have been at the forefront to implement the German HRG system and have been a Medical Controller acting as a link between clinicians, coders and management.
I have taken part in numerous courses and conferences in hand surgery, microsurgery and aesthetic surgery throughout training internationally.

I have been invited internationally to lecture and teach (Strasbourg, Buenos Aires, Marbach, San Francisco, Boston). I have presented several peer-reviewed publications and non-indexed publications, am co-author of three book chapters in international hand surgery and have given numerous presentations internationally.

I have lived in the UK with my family for 10 years and speak fluent English and German. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, classical music and sports. I love Asian artefacts and Scandinavian decor.
