As a specialist hip and knee surgeon, I am dedicated to providing the highest level of care to my patients at Spire Little Aston Hospital in Sutton Coldfield and Spire Parkway in Solihull. My primary focus is on treating adult hip and knee conditions, and I have extensive experience in performing primary hip and knee replacements, revision surgeries, robotic-assisted procedures, and knee arthroscopy.
One of my treatment approaches is using the posterior approach for hip replacements, which helps spare the important hip abductor muscles, allowing for a faster recovery and better post-operative outcomes for patients. I also implement an enhanced recovery programme after hip and knee replacements to ensure safe and quick recovery for my patients.
In addition to my work at Spire Healthcare, I am also a full-time NHS hip and knee consultant at the University Hospitals of Birmingham. My previous consultant practice at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton also gave me a lot of experience in treating failed (revision) hip and knee replacements which enables me to anticipate challenges with primary joint replacements and to improve my outcomes.
I am excited to offer the next generation of hip and knee surgery with Mako robotic-arm assisted hip and knee replacements at Spire Little Aston Hospital. This cutting-edge technology allows for greater precision and accuracy during the procedure, resulting in a more natural feeling joint, faster recovery times, and less pain and discomfort post-surgery. If you're considering hip or knee replacement, I would be happy to discuss your options with you and help you make an informed decision about your care.
My basic surgical training was in South East London at University Hospital Lewisham, where I completed my MRCS qualification. My higher specialist orthopaedic training was in the West Midlands on a prestigious Birmingham orthopaedic training programme, leading to FRCS (trauma & orthopaedics) and CCST qualifications.
I have since undertaken an advanced arthroplasty (joint replacement) fellowship at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.
I am an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with University of Leicester. I have lectured at numerous national and international meetings. I have published multiple papers in Scientific Journals. I teach on various undergraduate and post graduate courses.
Further patient feedback can be viewed on my iWantGreatCare profile.
