I was appointed as a consultant in 2009 and have developed a broad practice to include many aspects of urological cancer such as investigation of a high PSA, and haematuria; laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) for prostate, kidney and bladder cancer. I have also continued my interest in kidney stones, offering both rigid and flexible ureteroscopic surgery with the Holmium laser as well as access to shock wave lithotripsy at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

I graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1994 then undertook surgical training in Scarborough, Bristol and New Zealand. This was followed by six years as a specialist registrar in the West Midlands including at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, developing a special interest and expertise in laparoscopic surgery and the diagnosis and treatment of urological cancers. I was part of the team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital that introduced the laparoscopic radical cystectomy.

I am the Urology MDT Lead at SWBH Trust and a member of West Midlands Urology Registrar Training Committee.

In 2005, I was elected to serve as a junior representative on the BAUS (British Association of Urological Surgeons) committee for endourology. I have researched and published in the fields of laparoscopy and endourology. I am a consultant urologist for Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust and part of the Birmingham Prostate Clinic, providing comprehensive assessment and management of all diseases affecting the prostate and urinary system.
