Specialises in
I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon practising at Spire Parkway Hospital. I specialise in general adult urological problems - urinary infections, male urinary/prostatic symptoms (LUTS/BPH), investigations for PSA/prostate cancer, haematuria (blood in urine), female incontinence, impotence, penile and testicular problems.
I strive to provide an open and personalised approach to care, and I am keen to provide a service made easy for both the referring clinician and patient.
I have a sub-specialist interest in lower urinary tract dysfunction (BPH) providing minimally invasive treatments (MITs). I also offer REZUM, UROLIFT, GLL and conventional TURP for men with lower urinary tract dysfunction.
I have performed large numbers of BPH procedures with very good functional outcomes.
Recently, I have introduced the one stop prostate biopsy service for men with elevated PSAs and abnormal prostate MRI scans at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust: providing local anaesthetic transperineal biopsies of the prostate using PRECISION point.
I attended the prestigious Guy’s, King’s, and St Thomas’ (GKT) school of medicine in London. During this time, I was awarded the Harold Ellis prize (Highly Commended) in surgery, in addition to numerous other undergraduate and postgraduate prizes. I completed an elective in urology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm Sweden, under eminent Professors. I embarked on my surgical training at the Oxford School of Surgery whilst also teaching anatomy to medical students at the University of Oxford. I completed my urology training in the Northwest of England working at a variety of hospitals including The Christie Hospital (Europe's largest single-site cancer centre) and The Manchester Royal Infirmary NHS Foundation Trust.
I am currently on the Medical Advisory Panel for Bladder Health UK (the largest UK charity for bladder problems). In addition, I am also the former urology cancer lead and the past Royal College of Surgeons Tutor for my hospital. I have been heavily involved in medical education, as I am a former personal and clinical tutor to the University of Warwick Medical School. I have examined for pre-registration medical students and on courses related to the postgraduate exam in urology. I am very proud be an Honorary Clinical Lecturer to Warwick Medical School.
I am dedicated to research, having published, and presented at a national and international level in the field of urology. One of my publications was voted the Top 25 “HOTTEST ARTICLES" by the International Journal of Surgery in that year and is still one of the most popular papers by that journal since its creation.”
