I qualified from University of Birmingham School of Physiotherapy in 1999. I have spent many years working in the NHS specialising in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal outpatients. I have over 25 years experience of working with hip and knee replacements and post surgery orthopaedic patients and have worked with these patients every step of the way.
I have a passion for, and extensive experience of, post operative recovery from day one, fresh out of surgery and ward stay, acute post hospital discharge to final end stage of rehabilitation some weeks/months later.
I now work in the musculoskeletal outpatient setting as a Specialist Physiotherapist and provide assessment, treatment and management for a wide range of musculoskeletal problems and conditions. This can range from acute (new) injuries, post-operative follow-up to chronic (longstanding) conditions.
Alongside this, I have developed a specialised interest in joint injections to peripheral joints. Corticosteroid injections can reduce inflammation and can be effective when delivered directly into the painful area. The pain relief can last from days to years, allowing your condition to improve with physical therapy and an exercise program.
My vestibular training and experience enables me to treat patients suffering with dizziness and vertigo. I also have extensive experience of acupuncture for a variety of problems, ranging from stress and anxiety, muscle spasm to pain relief/management.
